Preparing story files

<<Exporting Obj's

Part 4

So we have a bunch of obj's next part is to get them into a Maya (Maya is required)scene but first we need to do some prep work

First we need to extract pack_tentacle_dreams.bin into a folder

Unpacking/packing packs

Open up the folder filemaker and follow the directions of the link or

1. Make a copy of the start.ini

2. Copy the start.ini from the tutorial folder into filemaker folder

3. Run filemaker

4. Turn down volume and don't be wearing headphones

5. Listen for the ear piercing whistle or for it to say ended filemaker

6. Click exit (ESCAPE) pressing ok will run it again

Now we have a folder called pack_tentacle_dreams inside the pack folder make a copy of that folder

One is for us to use as our base and the other is where we will reference code (copy and paste is your friend)

Rename one of the folders to pack_tutorial

Always name the folder what you want it to be when you are finished because if you change the name you mess with the file locations of textures for Maya

Now delete the init folder from your pack_tutorial

Add in the init, source folder and story.txt from the tutorial folder

This folder now has all the assets from the story but no actual story its a blank sheet

Now we need to go into debug mode

Follow the below tutorial
